Duplicated Admin Passwords need to be replaced with unique passwor

We need to change passwords for 4 replicating servers. To date, they've all
shared the same Administrator password and connect using NT authentication.
The servers now need to have unique passwords. 2 servers are members of the
same domain and the other two are members of seperate workgroups. What's the
most secure and efficient setup for replicating servers with unique
passwords? Create a unique administrator rights user on each server and set
SQL to start up as this user on each server and duplicate the user on the
other servers so authentication works? ...

I assume you are referring to the agent startup logins? Typically you use a
domain login who is a local administrator - same account for the SQL Server
agent and SQL Server Service. If they are different on each server and
replication is using trusted security, have a look in BOL for the rights
required in replication for the SQL Server Agent in each part of your
topology ("replication, security"), and the entry required in the PAL.

duplicate the SQL login

I have some sql login but I have forgotten the password. I can't modify the password anyway. Is there anyway to copy the login to a new login so that I can use the new login to access the database which it is granted to?

i am not sure i got the problem correctly ........ but anyhow you can not have duplicate login... but what u can do is you can create script of the existing login and then change only the name and password ... keep all other setting... this is as good as cloning of this login...

BTW ... why you can not change the password

Dumb question: How do I view a report?

I have SSRS installed, but when I try to navigate to it via IE, I'm prompted
for my username and password even though I'm using Windows integrated
security for SQL Server. What do I need to do to create/access reports?Never mind. I'd typed in http://localhost/ReportServices$SQLSERVER2005 when
I was prompted for a username and password. I should've typed in
http://localhost/Reports$SQLSERVER2005/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx ...
As I said, it's a dumb question ... hahaha.

If you are using a browser other than IE, this may occur. If not, then
you will want to check the Directory Security (for the Reports and
ReportServer virtual directories). You do this via: Right-click My
Computer -> Select Manage -> Navigate to Services and Applications ->
Internet Information Services -> Web Sites -> Default Web Site. Then,
right-click Reports (or ReportServer) and select Properties -> select
the Directory Security tab -> select the Edit button just below
'Anonymous access and authentication control' and check to see if you
have either 'Anonymous access' selected or 'Integrated Windows
Authentication.' If anonymous is selected, most likely SSRS will not
allow you to avoid providing authentication (if it allows navigation
to the URL at all). Hope this helps.

DTSRUN password and username

Hello,
I run DTSRUN command in SP on many copmuters.
No problem with local server parameter but how can i use constant of the /U and /P parameters not to write username and password every time. could this be taken from the local server itself?

I usually put the server in a glabal variable and use that in the script.
If you are loading from an SP then you can use dtsrun to set it to @.@.servername.

not working with server = (local)
the problem with global variable that i use many servers (by the way they have other passwords for sa...) and cant run it with /A as have mssql97... not 2000|||In that case see
