Duplicate instances

On one box Enterprise Manager is indicating a second instance â' . (Windows
NT)â' , in addition to the default instance, â' (local) (Windows NT)â'. This
second instance was not installed, It just appeared. The MSSQL directory
indicates the presence of only one instance. Databases, and security
configurations are identical in structure and information between the two
instances. Has any one seen this happen? Would you recommend deleting the
â'Ghostâ' instance. Any ideas welcome. Thanks to everyone for being there to
help. SQL 2000 SP4.coenzyme wrote:

You can safely delete either one - registrations in EM have no effect on
the actual instances that are running.

Dundas Question

Are there more opportunities to use expression-based chart configuration with the Dundas charts? With the default charts, you are most limited to hard-coding your chart.

With Dundas, can you choose 3D or 2D based on an expression?

Can you choose chart styles based on expressions (e.g. cones verse bars)?

Can you choose chart types based on expressions?

Thanks,

Michael

Still hoping for an answer on this.|||

Shouldn't you just check this out at the source? Their docs are online

http://support.dundas.com/OnlineDocumentation/RSChart/webframe.html

You'd see some cool stuff, for example

http://support.dundas.com/OnlineDocumentation/RSChart/CodeEditor.html

Something tells me you can't switch chart type programmatically, and therefore not by expression, though.

If you want to post the command you are using it may help? Also the full
error message would be useful. If you want the backup to be placed on a
different server you can use a UNC path. Make sure that you also have
directory permissions as well as server/database permissions sysadmin,
db_owner or db_backupoperator. See BACKUP in Books Online for more.
Databases can also be detached and attached, it is usually best to attach
the database to an instance at the same service pack/hotfix number, but SQL
2000 databases can be attached to SQL 2005 instances, although you may have
to change incompatibilities if you want to use the latest compatibility mode.
If you are changing instance you will need to script logins and possibly
resolved orphaned users see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/314546 for more.

your machine?
Other methods include script out all the objects and data and then re-create the objects locally and
then import that data. I doubt you will find something as such as rock solid as backup. I've listed
some tools to generate scripts and some with data at
http://www.karaszi.com/SQLServer/info_generate_script.asp.

dumb question

Hi all, yes this is a dumb question, but I cant find a formatting answer...
A zero value eg 0, or 0.0 is supressed on RS reports by default.
How can I stop this, the report must show all zeros regardless in a total
field.
If I use default as the format type then I will see 0, but as the field is a
percentage, I have to use the % attribute for the format type..
So, how can I force the showing of a zero in a total fiel ie. 0%
Thanx in advanceHow about =iif(Fields!Total.value>0,Fields!Total.value,0) in the expression
of that text box. Then right click the text box and pick properties format
and put in P (for percent or P0 or P1 according to how many places you want
after the decimal. Hope that works for you.

think that should work for you.
